The temperate drops oh so mildly
Trees turn from green to yellow and gold
And ever so wildly
My home changes ever so boldly
And so the leaves change
But not my heart
I long for the security
of the changing leave I'm used to
and the friendship I adore
Royal purples and vibrant reds
Orange pumpkins and Indian corn
bring in a week of Indian summer
And then for six months will nothing be born
And so the leaves change
But not my heart
I long for this beautiful season
And to share all this –
With the person who will give my life reason
