About the Site:

Welcome! This website is a creative site about author SG Cardin, (yes, that's me!). For those of you who enjoy my writing, I have two full length novels "Destination: Berlin" and "All That Remains" which have been published by IUniverse.com. I also have a poetry book I am preparing for publication and I'm working on a sequel to "All That Remains" and new novel with a Sci-Fi focus.

Not only that, I am accomplished fan fiction writer, having written fan fiction for daytime drama "One Life To Live." The "OLTL Satire" is a humourous behind the scenes look of what goes on behind a soap opera. The Satire has been recoginzed as one of the best written daytime drama's fan fiction.

On this site you'll find a little sampling of my various writings. There's comprehensive "behind the scenes" menus of "Destination: Berlin" and All That Remains", there's a selection of poems from my upcoming poetry book, "Love, Sadness, & Seasons", and there's also a section dedicated to my fan fiction writing featuring the "OLTL Satire." There's also fun stuff to do including polls, a guestbook, and an interactive messageboard hosted by EZBoard.

Teaser for "Destination: Berlin"

Explore a world that few get the opportunity by checking out what the military action/adventure/thriller/romance that Destination: Berlin has to offer. As a reader, you jump into the action quickly and right away discover the world of cold-war Europe before the fall of the wall. Filled with intrigue, esponsiage and a heart warming romance, the novel gives you a peek into life in the military and how it encompasses the lives of those who live it day by day.

Set in July 1988, the story begins in Osnabrueck, Germany. You meet a young female soldier, Sharon Cates who has just been promoted, a reward for all her military accomplishments. Sharon is also selected to attend the Berlin Orientation Tour and this is suppose to be one of the happiest times of her life. But Sharon is haunted by a bitter lover, another solider, Damien Eddington who isn’t quite ready to let her go, making a deal with the East German Stasi, planting top secret information on her, hoping they kill her for it as she rides the duty train through East Germany.

What makes Destination: Berlin unique as a military novel are two things. The first is that the “Hero” is really a “Heroine”. Corporal Sharon Cates is clearly the character you’re rooting for as she discovers her jilted lover’s plan, almost too late to save her life. Very rarely do military novels offer a female heroine, yet increasing more in today’s society female soldiers are put into those types of situations. The second thing “Berlin” offers is that Sharon is a Corporal, a non-commissioned officer. Again, in most military novels, the hero is usually a male and an officer. An officer has a four year degree and has gone through a different type of training than the enlisted soldier. Sharon proves that a hero can be a woman and a non-commissioned officer all in one single swoop!

I’m very excited about this novel as it challenges the norms we’ve grown up with though the years. Every character has a unique perspective to offer on life, the military, friendship and relationships. I’m also very excited about offering this website to you to discover those things about the novel that you might have had questions about. I hope you come back often for discussions about the novel and the other features the site has to offer. Let me leave you with an excerpt from the book where our heroine, Sharon, meets her own personal hero, Dimitri Nagory… Check out the section "All About - Destination: Berlin"! SG.

Teaser for "All That Remains"

Visit a sleepy New England town by checking out the contemporary romantic drama, "All That Remains." Meet "Darrin Banning", the town's spoiled little rich boy who has a reputation for being bad and "Kristina Rivera" who has struggled her whole life to forful her dream of being a lawyer. Both Darrin and Kristina come from scarred childhoods, childhoods that have left them lonely and doubtful of where their future will take them.

Set in the present day, you meet Darrin at a low point in his life. After getting out of jail for serving time for a crime he didn't commit, Darrin meets his first wife, "Andrea St. George." After getting married, Andrea becomes pregnant and in a fluke, modern medicine in unable to save her when she goes into childbirth. Darrin is devestated to lose his wife despite gaining a daughter.

While Kristina has obtained her goal of becoming a lawyer, it's not as glamourous as she thought it would be. She's still barely able to make ends meet. And she still very much wants to be part of a "family" so when her aunt asks her to help defend her childhood crush, Kristina comes to her aunt's aid and she can't help but become involved with her first love all over again.

However, Kristina's relationship is just as volitile as before and when she gets fired for the third time, she's had enough. As she plans to leave for Boston she discovers Darrin Banning is looking for a lawyer and on a whim she decides to check him out. And when headstrong, gutsy Kristina meets the obnixious yet moody Darrin - the sparks fly!

So what makes "All That Remains" special? It's got just the right mix of action, adventure, and romance! It doesn't "read" like your "typical" romance novel. With sharp and witty dialogue and characters that warm your heart, "All That Remains" will keep you interested and keep you turning the pages until you realize you've finished the book and want more.
